The festive/holiday season sees an increase in temptation and fitnah, a time when people lose themselves, in many different ways.
In a narration in Sunan Tirmidhi, a Sahabi asked Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallm) what is salvation?
In response, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) provided the formula for salvation.
Sayyiduna ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir (radiyallahu’anu) said: I asked Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallm) what is [the formula for] salvation?
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallm) replied:
- Control your tongue
- Remain in your home
- Cry over your sins
